The last shots I took of my baby...He is so damn expressive, perfect for this shot..
he grabbed an orange from our tree and knew just what to do with it..
I like the idea the orange is poisoned or spoiled....forbidden fruit.

many things came to mind when i first saw this striking image. as previously mentioned, smeagol devouring the fish at the beginning of the third lord of the rings; it must be the wide open mouth and blood stained teeth, also, goya's "saturn devouring his children"; the wild eyes and the tight grasping hands with the prodtuding knuckles grasping the orange...
the last thing that came to me was that oranges, like all fruit, are the seed bearers of the plant. they are like ovaries hanging from the trees, and when they fall from the tree, they plant themselves in the ground and produce offspring... so to me, when he crushes and devours this orange, he is devouring life and all possibility of future offspring from this particular life. sort of like goya's painting, now that i think of it...

Pecular(sp). I'm going to complemete(sp) the implications(wrong word) later. It's very stricking. A lot diffrent from the other da picture of orange and human i've seen on Da. That was an erotic type picture.. and this is.. this. I like the contrast between those two, even though you the artist might never have heard of that picture.

Actually, this piece made me gag. Don't take that the wrong way, I think that is awesome.
