I am tired -Head heavy and eyes low
Hung and dry.
I yawn -
Open mouthed and shuddered
Shoulders, arms twinged.
There is a softness to this.
A willingness to let slip.
Cradled and sharp, Eyes shut against silent noise.
Pillowed head,
And knees pulled high to chest,
Lungs filling with cold night air.
Outside of the dark,
beyond these walls,
people move.
The sounds of electronic voices
and pretend lives played out in
bright bight lights casting shadows
across the face.
The face.
A face made pale by the stark bright light.
The light.
Filling the face and pulling them forward.
Eyes fail to blink out the spots.
My eyes are strained and they close to blink out a compelling weariness.
Coiled in warmth and waiting for it to pass, the feeling of weariness
and strained, blinked eyes.
