Description This is a quick commission for , who
commissioned this piece for two friends. One from the online
comic thewotch.com/ and another is simply a personal
friend (as far as I understand anyhow! rav3nlock can correct me
if I'm wrong).

I've been reading up on Plein-Air painting and trying to use
some of Jame's Gurney's advice on techniques. Primarily, using
a color gamut from a Yurmby Color Wheel to restrict the color
pallet and create a more unified color scheme (this is built out
of a triad, green purple and red), as well as picking up on some
subtle cues on shading and light. For instance, shadows cast
from the sky are blue, while horizontal surfaces in shadow will
turn a yellowish hue due to reflect light off the ground.

Also, pondering the best way to do commissions: full
illustrations or these more, select subsections of an isometric
landscape.

So lots of thoughts!

In other news, I'm going to yet another wedding this weekend
so Systems of Entertainment continues to be delayed. I work
on it while I can, but this next animation is going to be a giant of
a piece! So please bear with me, it'll be worth the wait ^_^

Sincerely,
~Noah Page

This is awesome! My character looks so adorable leaning against Anne like that!

[link] This is the earliest iteration probably of her from my long lost comic, if anybody was curious.

Interesting, to say the least - this is quite likely the first pic I've seen of this kind of setup. Very nicely done!

As per your query: Perhaps offer certain payment amounts for the type / amount of detail in the background? That's more or less how it works with some of the Deviants I've commissioned in the past, anyway.

Isometric backgrounds provide a 'clean' backdrop, allowing the subjects to stand out more. A "proper" BG is more situational (such as if these two were sitting on park benches). My thoughts on that.

While it's your choice, I'd go with the iso BGs, if only for sanity's sake.

It turned out great! Also, both had worked on webcomics, but they're also both buddies :3

I haven't worked on webcomics since like 2003! But I'm still your buddy!

Without looking at the link, I would say that is Anne Onymous from The Wotch online comic. I've been reading it for years. Suffice it to say it is ... different. XD
