Thank you; yeah, Rabies is supposed to look vicious. However, to be quite honest with you, the way I drew him I don't see much of the adorable side. But again, thank you.

(Sorry for the very late reply; I have abandoned this account more or less, but I will log in once in a while . . . while meaning a long while.)
It was mostly due to "not thinking of a great design" for his shoes. Every time that I did try to draw any shoes for Rabies, or even go through a brainstorm for a design, they all came out awkward and not right such as too many details that I wanted.
Eventually, as I grew and learned to make characters a bit better than what they were before, I realized I was over complicating the footwear for Rabies when I began to rehash/change him.
Despite Rabies being the Speed Type, I knew that I REALLY REALLY could not make his speed be of like Sonic or Shadow (or the new character, Infinite) for that matter. Why? It is their thing. Their unnatural speed is what practically defines them, especially Sonic. I cannot really one up such a thing. Also, if I did that, I would be turning my character into a Gary-Stu. I could just BS my way to explain why Rabies can run as fast as Sonic and Shadow, and Rabies would be OPed. However, again, it would make him a Gary-Stu, which I do not want (although I am pretty sure most characters I have created (Sonic related or not) are Gary-Stus/Mary-Sus without me knowing, but that is for another time), and insults of what I am trying to do: create my own unique Sonic character that does not have to rely on the many, existing aspects of official Sonic characters.
Sure, there might be one or two details I borrowed from Sonic characters; however, I try to make it my own to the point of being something else and no longer related to that said Sonic character.
So, Rabies' speed is pretty average compared to other Sonic characters, who are not even near Sonic's and Shadow's level. I remember I followed a baseline to make a Sonic character, and the person listed the speeds that the Sonic characters went. Obviously, Sonic's and Shadow's were the top speeds, and the person highly dictated that the character that you make must NEVER have this speed. And I listened. Why? Again, I do not want a Gary-Stu, insults my character and official characters, and, in a way, I did not want to be like others, who slapped their characters with the speed of Sonic or Shadow just because they can, or they had a story (which some are BS while others I can buy a bit better such as DanSyron's Syron (who I know is not a Sonic character anymore, but for my explanation let us pretend for a moment) who can only go at fast speeds if he had this configuration of the crystals).
Sonic and Shadow wear special shoes (let us call them special) for their super speed. Again, Rabies' speed is average. Ergo, he would have no need for special shoes. Also, if I ever re-post his profile, Rabies is . . . feral; wild; natural. He fights as normal as Knuckle who fights with his fists and strength and nothing more. Pure martial arts. Shoes would more or less hinder Rabies' abilities. Also, keeps him in touch with nature and where he comes from. So, he just wears foot guards; VERY simple to design.
. . . Yeah, I just had to take the long way to explain why Rabies lacks shoes . . . I am so sorry. ORZ
