started up Fire Nation Week which SHOULD technically be over by now...but I'm keepin it goin a little on the late end of the spectrum.

I'm also catching two pokemon with one pokeball and putting up the next piece for 's Avatar Month...which was over a long while back. The ninth prompt for that was Azula.

Azula, of Avatar: the last Airbender, is on the left. Wanda, of X-men Evolution, is on the right.

So I know you're wondering how is this at all 'through the fire'. Well some people use that phrase to describe the toughest time of your life, and I imagine Azula's complete emotional collapse and the following recovery period fits well. I've been playing with the idea for a while that they put her in the same "hospital" X-Men Evolution's Magneto put his daughter, Wanda, in when she got to powerful to be controlled...at the age of somewhere between six and eight.

These two are probably the most complex, powerful, emotionally unstable teenage female characters in cartoon history. I can't help being entertained and contemplative about them sharing a cell or at least a common room.

For the record, Wanda's straight jacket is designed to be tight around her hands so she can't move her fingers and Azula's is designed to restrict her breathing only enough to keep her from firebending. The mask allows her to breath and talk but is specially developed to prevent her from spitting fire...and/or biting her nurses. I don't know how it works, ask Sokka and the Mechanist. They probably designed it special. And it will come off when she makes more progress, I'm sure.

Where are Azula's socks and shoes, you ask? I don't know. I think she kicked em off somewhere...and I like drawing barefeet.

Everything is a muted blue or green because those colors are beneficially soothing and calming. And I was getting so sick of everything being red...

I know its a stretch on the theme. It's got Azula at least....
