Thank you for the kind comments and reactions on my new Áine, the Faery Goddess costume!

I first became aware of Áine (pronounced 'ON-ya') while researching Celtic deities a couple of years ago. She is the Celtic Goddess of love, the sun, fertility, luck, summer, sovereignty and a few other things. There were lots of reasons why the Celtic people called on this particular deity! It is also said that Áine's children with her human lovers were the first of a magical race of faery people, which is why she is known as the Faery Goddess. To this day, she is claimed as an ancestor by multiple Celtic families.

Personally, I think it would be so cool to be able to claim fae ancestry! Maybe one day I'll do some genealogy research on my father's side to see if I can.
