Finished....I did get a different kind of paper to work my prismas on... I'm not sure it was the best choice... but it doesn't fuzzy up. I guess I'll just have to keep shopping around until I find something that works best for me.
Anyway PLEASE NOTE there isn't a smug on the real thing and the colors are better than the scan. Scanners suck

this is a nice picture. but out of curiosity, do you know what each of those symbols means? just wondering because i've seen some people draw them and have no idea what they are and talk about them without knowing.

This picture is gorgeous, and I've always wanted to make my own horse look this way... You have problems with finding the right canvas (or that's what I got from your description) but have the right paints, but I have the right canvas (my horsey lol) I just can't find the right paints! LoL.

Beautiful work. I love the shading, especially about the chest area. The muscles look very nice. I quite like how the background is black, it makes the beautiful creature stand out. I should do some more with my coloured pencils, I hardly do anymore.... Well done.

Awesome! I've always wanted to try tinted/colored paper...but...er...I suppose my excuse is that I've been too lazy to go out and buy some! I'm sure there's a paper out there for you...who knew there could be such a mind-bogglingly wide array of paper types?

Thank you... I'm going to try to find a good photo of my mustang Comanche to upload so you can see him sometime in the not to distant furture. Great to find someone else that loves a mustang! Soooo many people are think they are nothing but rogues.

haha Noo, I would love to actually own one one day. My only fear is if I bought one as a foal, it may grow to be one of the smaller horses. I'm fairly tall, I wouldnt be able to use a small mustang. Stormy is very large for a mustang. His owners joke around saying that his mother got to some cowboys stallion b/c he's big for a mustang. But I think the whole idea of owning a piece of American history is so facinating! I would love to see a picture of your Comanche! Let me know when you have one posted!

I have a picture that is a few years old in my galler that is a winged leopard appaloosa with war paint and feathers ... partically shown here in my icon. And its funny you said that because this guy was a blanket appaloosa in my head... but seemed to insist on being a paint when I started drawing.

Very cool! GREAT anatomy (though im not myself too familar with horse anatomy this is quite impressive!) and very good detail.
Add to that the fact that you did this in colored pencil and this is quite impressive.

If the colours look dull after scanning, you could always try increasing the contrast...

I did play with the color. This was pretty much the best I could get it to look. Scanners hardly ever scan something to look like the real thing. Thanks for the advice though and the nice comment.
