An exercise, mainly, to prove to myself I can still draw things other than static character designs: SlashRenamon takes on Yasyamon in a "friendly" spar.
One of the best compliments I recieved on SlashRena's design was from a self-avowed "Renamon Hater" who told me that she looked "like Renamon had grown up." I'm not sure exactly what that means, but since I was toying with a variation of this design for Renamon-X, I suppose I'm on the right track. As it stands, if I ever decide to do anything with "Digimon Empire," I need to practice drawing her anyway, since she, like all the other Digis, spends a good chunk of Act 2 in Champion form.
Leomon may be my favorite Digimon for non-sexual reasons, but, when it came down to picking who I wanted for my partner, Yasyamon and his Rookie form, Kotemon, were my choice. I admittedly cobbled together Yasyamon's DIgivolution line: he's "actually" Veemon Armor Digivolved with the Egg of Sincerity, but Kotemon was listed as an alternate Rookie form. I dunno, there's just something about him that just...clicks with me. I've decided to make him part of the "Digimon Empire" cast as the main "goggle boy" Digimon, partially because my son insists that the main Digimon HAS to be a "dinosaur type." It works, too, actually...but don't tell him that, he already thinks he knows Digimon better than me.
