DEMON MASTER VERSION

Levi Leviathan will show up in my upcoming commercial M/M series Daemon Dominus (Demon Master) as one of the demons that will be caught and imprisoned inside the enchanted book: the Lemegeton. I envision him as the first "merman" because he was the first aquatic beast created by Jewish deity. Leviathan is the demon of water element. He can be summoned to battle other demons.

This is the first ever version I ever made for Levi Leviathan using PhotoImpact. My Photoshop skill at that time was zero. All I could do was doing collages. It's mocked in a so-called humor forum, even used as mockery avatar by a member. Some DA members also criticized the color of the fin ears. Therefore, I eventually moved this art to Scrap section because I thought of it as a total failure - hence, the term version 0.

It was actually born from a mistake. Years ago when my photoshop skill was low, I tried an online tutorial Beauty In The Lake www.psdbox.com/wp-content/uplo… I did the male version but ended up with version 1 of Leviathan. To my surprise, many people liked it.

I redid it by changing the background and adding merman tail because I envision Leviathan as the first merman. I moved the setting from calm lake to raging stormy sea. To reflect the change, I also renamed it from God of the Lake to King of the Ocean.

I changed the model because I wanted to use this as commercial cover for my own story.

I decided to create a more dramatic story-telling by changing the ship's direction and multiplying them. With this new composition, it seemed as if Leviathan had been chased by a fleet of ships.

Version 5 is the one you're looking at. I added the fin-ears, just as I originally envisioned how Leviathan would look like. I also replaced some stocks with commercial ones because I wanted to give this art a new look.

DEVIL'S COLLECTOR VERSION

Levi Leviathan is an original character from my gay novel Devil's Collector. Leviathan is one of the four Crown Princes of Hell. According to Jewish myth, Leviathan was created as a couple by Yahweh but after his 'wife' was slain by Yahweh, he switched side and supported Sataniel.

Levi has three forms: human, demon, monster. As a human, he assumes a handsome man's form with the name Levi. In demon form, he is a man with blue fin ears and large fish tail. In monster form, he is a giant water serpent. In my story, Levi's demon form inspired the creation of mermaid myth. Levi often seduced sailors, however because they were too ashamed to admit they made love to fish-tailed man, they lied about Levi's gender. Thus, the myth of mermaid was born.
