No, the 1993 design is the SatAM/Underground style. The 1991 style I drew here is Classic Sonic from Generations because I have never been able to draw his original design.

So you're telling me that both designs are exactly the same? I don't think so. In case you haven't noticed, the Sonic 1 box art style is in airbrush whereas the show's style is more simple and looks nothing like the original design. Even in the SatAM concept artwork, you can see that they are both different.
