In Australia do you get a lot of snow imagery from all the northern hemisphere Christmas media (in commercials, advertising, etc.), or is there a lot of alternative Christmas imagery that suits the hot weather better?

Mostly snow, Santa still wears a red suit, put tinsel on the Christmas tree, etc. There are Australianised versions but they are always tongue in cheek, or never catch on. I think the most significant Australian tradition would be eating seafood, or a BBQ instead of a sit down turkey, and leaving a beer out for Father Christmas as opposed to milk.
