Description
Kashima, Japan. This port was hit by the Tsunami in 2011. Thankfully noone was hurt.
This image was part of a showcase of work created while on the Kizuna voluntary program to help out after the 2011 tsunami. The body of work was highly commended by the Australian Ministry for the Arts in the inaugural 'Australian Arts in Asia' Awards. This particular image has also won a silver award in both the South Australian and National Australian Institute of Professional Photography Awards.

What a perfect time of day to capture this! A lot of times industrial landscapes don't look very pretty, but when they're caught in that sort of sunlight, they can look beautiful-- like in this photo! Congratulations on the DD.

I used to work at an Oil refinery, not quite the same but very similar.

Oh yea mines more of a plant farm where they hold and distribute those chemicals
