Part of the Usa-jingu complex in the Usa district of Oita-ken, Kyushuu, Japan.Built in 725, it's the head shrine of all of Hachiman shrines in Japan. Which is a big deal considering they are among the most famous and grand of the varying types of shrine in Japan.

... incredible... this time, I am returning you a comment you gave me! -"It looks like a scene from a movie!"... I mean I've not had a chance of watching many Japanese movies and when I picture one, I picture a serene dwelling, on top of a lake, lots and lots of assorted plants (which are never found anywhere else in the world)... and this picture fulfills all those aspects...
I like the area of the picture more than anything else... a famous Nepali photographer recently taught me that when a subject seems to be 'facing' towards a certain area, that side of the area should get more preference in the picture... which is totally fulfilled by this picture... the right side that is... keeping the house (shrine) off the center, hence, for me is the best thing that could happen in the picture...
the reflection of the shrine is just right... nothing more is shown, nothing has been hidden... it's JUST RIGHT!
and finally, the time... I really like the shadows that the trees have created on the roof of the shrine, had it been more towards the afternoon, may be the shadows wouldn't have created such a 'mystic' environment...
another fine work, Sven... I should find a new adjective to describe this work
