Quarter horse (?), 24 x 32 cm, Canson Mi-Teintes, Polychromos colored pencils, Reference photo by Ainslie Gilles-Patel (www.facebook.com/ainsliegilles… )It's finally done! I started this ages ago when I first got my Polychromos, but I loved it so much, that it was very slow to do for fear of ruining it. Well, all my hard work pays off months later, and here it is, my shining beauty! I'm so happy with this one - and as an artist I don't say that too often because of self-criticism.

I thought the quote was very appropriate for me right now. This is yet another belated Favourites Feature. Hmm... I've either got to get my s***t together, or stop worrying about a time line. While I'm at it, do smaller Features. This is the biggest by far!

The detail is amazing. It's so realistic, I feel like if I could reach into the frame, I would feel the silken warmth of his skin against my fingertips. Truly remarkable work. Your whole gallery is just full of beautiful things.
