My brother turned 50 this year and he's always been a big fan of my knives, so I made him one I thought he'd really like. The blade is 1095 & 15N20 damascus in a random or 'Spirit' pattern. It's a classic bowie blade with vine filework on the spine The fitting are all made from some rusty old wrought iron dug up at our mom's house (she lives on an 1815 farm), and the handle is stabilized spalted Japanese red maple from a tree we used to play in as kids. I forgot to measure it, but I think the blade is about 8" and the handle about 6".
