Description
This is an approximate reproduction of the sword handle found in grave 5 at the burial site of Valsgarde. I had to modify the gem arrangement on the pommel to accommodate commercially available stones, but other than that it is as close as I could get based on my own hi-res photos of the original. The metal fitting are lost wax cast in tin bronze, set with 121 garnets of various sizes and 9 bone panels. The handle is stabilized cherry burl. The blade was forged by K.C. Lund from O1 & L6 damascus and is 32" long. The sword weighs 3lbs /1362g.
