I'm a romantic adventure... and I'm a reptile, too
This is =Vergilsparda666 's character Voyd with his iguana Agave.
Usually pictures with him are kind of dark, but because of the great weather outside I wanted to paint him in a different atmosphere. The tattoos weren't that easy to do because I didn't see a clear reference for that one on the chest, I hope I didn't make too many mistakes.
I used a reference for the body - [link] by ~LinzStock - and a cloud stock for the background from cgtextures.com . Painted in Photoshop and AzPainter.

Question... how long does it usually take you to do these drawings? The really detailed ones.

Hmmm... it's hard to tell: The most detailed ones from my gallery might have taken about 30-40 hours. The ones with a moderate amount of detail but including backgrounds could be 10-15 hours. Something like this without a painted background takes less: Maybe 4-8 hours. But it always depends on how focused I am

Actually, I'm really slow with drawing anything.
But I'm hoping to get better at drawing and painting and I want to be able to do things realistically. Most of my stuff is stylistic because I'm just too lazy to do something realistically. XD

Yeah, but such long times were in the beginning when it took me several weeks to finish a painting. I had to get more accustomed to the tools etc.

WOW. Just wow. I have never seen seen him in this light. Usually you are right that I draw him dark and macabre. I REALLY like how light he is in this. Its amazing baby. You kicked ASS on his tattoos. In that light they wouldnt be as dark as I do them. The only thing that I see is that his hair is usually fuller on top like spikier and poofier XDDDD Other than that he and Agave are perfect. I love this so much and its going on as my new desktop right now <3<3 Thankyou baby. As soon as you figure out what you want please tell me!

In my opinion the tattoos look well but may need a bit more shadow but given that it's set outside it may not need it. V would be able to direct you more. Still think there awesome. Good job

Yeah, I wasn't sure how dark I could go because I have this bright backlight that didn't allow me to use pure black. But maybe I should make another layer with the tattoos and multiply it slightly over the highlights until it looks right.

I think it's just all about experimenting with the bright it's just the case of keeping the shadows right. Like with the way the light isn't quite hitting dead on so they'll be darker shadows around the back etc. I'm not much of an expert so I could be wrong lol :3
