Ooh there's something really charming about the concept. All the pillows, the humble setting, and her luxurious hair. The line quality is awesome, and I love the texture to the whole piece. Great job!

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2013-11-04 15:29:29 +0000 UTC]

aw thank you) Yeah, volumable gowns are so charming! I really want to live in a different century just to wear them, would you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2013-11-04 17:46:10 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome! Yeah they're the kind of dress you'd like to spin around in, though I imagine sitting down to be a bit of a chore...and I could do without the corset...and do with flushing toilets and toothpaste

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2013-11-04 19:56:25 +0000 UTC]

hahahaha yes it's quite an obstacle to use the facilities properly, but the beauty of it! and the feeling when wearing this kind of clothes, must be really great! Well, the ladies in that times had so many dresses and so many maids to help them with dressing so I guess the toothpaste is not that big of a problem) Although I don't get how they were riding a horse with both legs on one side...and also wiping the floors with the very long skirts

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2013-11-05 15:05:18 +0000 UTC]

That's true! I heard they weighed a lot so they has to sit down a lot. Too bad if there was a fire and they needed to move quickly...or run away for being guillotined lol. Their saddles were like seats I think...and they dudn't care about sweeping the floors because their maids had to wash the skirts not them

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2013-11-12 11:21:04 +0000 UTC]

Yes! But even with the maids cleaning the skirts, the general hygiene standards were awful! And they washed their hair really rarely, and took a bath rare as well. But still, I guess that for people born in that time it wasn't an issue because they didn't know any difference Cannot imagine though, how uncomfortable it was to wear a dress with underskirts, underdress, pantalons, corset and lots of undergarments - so warm! (but pretty) And the knights armour weighted even more...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2013-11-12 18:48:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah ikk! I don't remember why I did it, but I checked online for victorian hair treatments and was shocked that they hardly washed it...yuk. Although they do say that after two weeks your hair cleans itself...I have no idea how! No they thought it was normal, and probably would have been startled at how much we bathe

Imagine an armoured gown...that'd be the heaviest garment ever made

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-03-29 22:22:44 +0000 UTC]

sorry I just noticed your reply!))) Yes, and they used honey and butter and all sorts of natural remedies to style their hair and it was considered luxurious to take baths, so weird!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-03-30 09:28:45 +0000 UTC]

Lol yes indeed lol, I'm glad i have a shower!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-04 15:22:17 +0000 UTC]

hahahaha oh yes! and that baths have plugs and taps!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-05 19:42:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah you no longer have to get some poor servant to carry buckets up stairs...or slosh around in other people's bathwater...ew

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-05 19:49:33 +0000 UTC]

oh yes! they used the same bathwater! and I don't get how they can clean themselves NOT under the running water!!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-06 06:19:22 +0000 UTC]

With a sponge...I guess? But basically your rinsing yourself off with your own dirty water...because that helps...what was the point of a bath???

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-08 19:41:17 +0000 UTC]

exactly!!!! by the way, I just took a nice hot shower and feel awesome and washed, and I think I've used the majority of hot water

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-09 13:24:40 +0000 UTC]

Lol ahhh how refreshing - lol my dad used to have this habit of turning the boiler on for only 15 minutes, so everyone had to rush to take a shower and make it as short as possible so the person at the end actually had some hot water...which by that time was lukewarm...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-09 14:47:00 +0000 UTC]

awwww, that's a good system though, but hot showers are soooo nice! I like them almost boiling hot, because I am in majority of times very cold and I have to stand under the shower to defrost  By the way, I just realise that I should add you to my watchlist! Where are you from?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-11 20:14:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah they're the best You're like me then, I have to have the water really boiling hot or it's just not hot enough!  My twin is the opposite, she has it really cold - so often would complain that the tap was turned on to boiling.
I am from Kuwait

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-11 21:15:02 +0000 UTC]

yes it's exactly the shower which is awesome! mainly, because I am almost always cold You have a twin, WOW! Is it cool to have one? Do you look identical??? Wow, that's so impressive!!!!!
I just googled Kuwait, shame on me, I don't know much about this country, but sounds very interesting and awesome!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-12 09:07:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, god bless the person who invented it lol, whoever that smart person was, they deserve to be forever commemorated!
Yes hmmm, it's alright, I don't know any different so I don't know if it's cool or not, but it is like constantly having someone to do stuff with, which is great.  No no we're not identical at all, though it depends on the person, some people can tell we're twins right away, others just think we're friends
That's alright, not many people know of it or even where it is

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-13 17:27:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes yes they are but we still get along and have shared interested but she tends to be friendlier and sometimes a little bumbling. Check out her page and you'll see what i mean, she's all flowery and girly

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-14 18:19:14 +0000 UTC]

Well pink has always been her favourite colour for some reason, and mine has always been orange...for some other unknown reason!
i'm 26, and no, I don't go on facebook, I kind of find it annoying, I had an account for a few months then just got fed up of it all

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-18 15:13:34 +0000 UTC]

aw, okay) I just find it more comfortable to use facebook than deviantart, but I don't know why It's more broad-oriented, I guess
Do you have any other brothers and sisters?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-20 09:40:36 +0000 UTC]

That's alright, a lot of people like it, but personally I like that dA was specifically for art (before it became like...this weird hybrid thing)
Yes I have two other sisters, my twin, and no brothers

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heldys In reply to Sleyf [2014-04-27 15:05:06 +0000 UTC]

how dA used to be then?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleyf In reply to Heldys [2014-04-27 15:45:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, about 5 years ago it used to be more art-related with more people interacting about art and sharing or discussing ideas, now it's more about pageviews and llamas
