None of the men, Rasom a prophsor of mid-evil literature, or Westen, not even Devine the inventor of the space drive, had a clue on the true nature of the space drive that was now propelling them towards Mars. Crawling along through space following quantum filements, snagging these spider's webs to the next thread in the fabric of the cosmos. Each world, nesteld safely in its own pocket of space and time. While the drive was running each appeared a blurry sphere, pearing into its multiple dementinal projections.

Its a great idea for a movie. Start off on the edge of our solar system. As we pass the planets as we see them normally we her radio, tv broadcasts. Its working backwards as we listen,from our time to the past when the book "Out of the Silent Planet" was written. Finally, we arive at earth the signals are now ww2 circa. From the Pearl Harbor, to the Britton Blitz, to the first speach the German Dictator broadcast. Just before earth, we see it as it is, we pass through this field, and the planet is darkened and all sound stop! We plung into its darkness. The tittle, followed by a sun setting landscape, of hills in Britton, where Ransom, a teacher at Oxford, is grumbling about how he misjudged the time on his retreat and it will be dark before he gets back.He meets a spanish cleaning lady afraid for her son. Arriving at the house, the boy escapes, he meets Westen and Devine who offer him tea untill authorities arrive. Ransom is drugged. His adventure begins. Off to Mars, Malacandra, that deap valley in its surface!
