sorry; but what is gesso? im always interested in new materials to use; even though my supply is sorta limited down here....

Gesso can be used as a primer or as an impasto. I use it to create textures, then I paint over the top of it. It's much less expensive than building up your paints. You can buy it in black or white.

i like this. its like; simplicity but without looking amature. the texture really works for this.... if you had used more block colours it probli wouldnt have worked out so well

Thanks for commenting.. we were only allowed to use 4 colours (excluding black and white). And the texture part was pretty fun, I built it all up with Gesso which worked well

I'm not familar with Nicolleta Ceccoli's work, but it definately seems like this style is a good fit for you. Very interesting and eye-catching work. The background is sparse, but I think in this case it works to your advantage, although I have a litte trouble figuring out the girl's relationship to the ground beneith her.
