sorry; but what is gesso? im always interested in new materials to use; even though my supply is sorta limited down here.....

Gesso can be used as a primer or as an impasto. I use it to create textures, then I paint over the top of it. It's much less expensive than building up your paints. You can buy it in black or white.

i like this. its like; simplicity but without looking amature. the texture really works for this.... if you had used more block colours it probli wouldnt have worked out so well . good job

Thanks for commenting.. we were only allowed to use 4 colours (excluding black and white). And the texture part was pretty fun, I built it all up with Gesso which worked well

I'm not familar with Nicolleta Ceccoli's work, but it definately seems like this style is a good fit for you. Very interesting and eye-catching work. The background is sparse, but I think in this case it works to your advantage, although I have a litte trouble figuring out the girl's relationship to the ground beneith her.

Thanks for your comment! I appreciate it, yeah it looks a little like she's hovering..there needs to be more shadow..also the photo doesn't look exactly like it is in real life
