I know this is a very late comment, but aside from being part of the lyrics of one of my favourite Placebo songs, the expression "Protect me from what I want" is also part of one or more exhibitions by the artist Jenny Holzer. She is well worth looking into.

This tattoo doesn't make sense? It says "Protected me" in French, the grammer is wrong. Protect me from what I want is "Me protéger de ce que je veux"
So protect me is "me protéger".... does that make sense?

You stupid bastard, "protège-moi" is right. I'm french canadian by the way.
But in english maybe.. You know, if you translate the sentence "protect me from what I want", yes for sure it's "me protéger de ce que je veux" but if you translate "protège-moi" it's "protect me". So the tattoo isn't wrong but maybe it doesn't fit with the description sentence..
