Description ...

Full view..

I did a mistake when we were out shooting these.. I had a REALLY high iso that screwed up most of the pictures. My rescue was neat image, that's where the plastic look comes from if you wonder.

i always hate it when i get a good photo and its taken with high ISO. always have to try my best to blend out the grain/noise.

did you add a texture to this?
maybe you should have left it noisy?

I have been shooting a lot of low light band photos and have been suffering from high ISO problems, this photos looks great I am glad you were able to recover from the iso!!

I am looking at getting a used canon 5D just because I think it can deal with higher ISOs better than the 40D I have now. I am curious about your experience in this matter. ^__^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Heleneee In reply to srwadleigh [2009-03-19 22:37:49 +0000 UTC]

Thank you

I have tried the 40D and it has definitive better ISO than my D80! My photographs turn out like crap if I turn it up to 400+. I think the iso on this one was 400

I've never tried the 5D, but I'm quite sure it handles the iso a lot better than the 40D.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srwadleigh In reply to Heleneee [2009-03-20 00:43:19 +0000 UTC]

I have been able to get away with up to 800 on the 40D, but if you have to adjust exposure up at all in post the ISO is immediately evident

In the end your photo came out looking great!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Heleneee In reply to srwadleigh [2009-03-20 14:19:33 +0000 UTC]

That is what I have experienced with the 40D too..

Thank you!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srwadleigh In reply to Heleneee [2009-03-21 15:40:31 +0000 UTC]

I have also found while the 40s noise tends to look horrible in color, it can actually look good as a BW, I have saved photos shot over 1000 ISO by converting and adjusting for a stark contrast.
