Description As every year, I did have a wonderful time at the 2012 'Marwell Int. Wildlife Art Society' (short:MIWAS) exhibition. I did live drawing at the art market, where I had a table.

I don't go to many art shows, so this is always a big highlight for me. Although I do find the preparation and organising to such an event is always very exhausting, the effort is well worth it. The fellow wildlife artists are so warmly welcoming, and it is great to catch up with everyone once a year.

I uploaded pictures of the event here, if you are interested: [link]

Thank you very much! It was actually not too bad, as people were just generally walking around, looking at pictures exhibited, then standing for 5 minutes, watching me, then they went on looking at exhibits. Of course, people would ask questions about technic and material, which I happily answered. Needless to say, I did not get too much done, I was talking too much. It was really a fun thing to do though!

He he, tell me about it! It was actually no as bad as I thought it would be, but I was so busy talking to people that I didn't get much done. >.< Too much coffee....

I would have needed more than coffee to perform in front of people, haha

I like that photo very much. Did you find it distracting painting in a room full of people, I know I would have (even if they are the art appreciating type). I also followed your link and the quality of the work from what I could see was very high, and there seemed to be a good crowd as well. Thanks for posting it.

I love photos of artists at work. Are the surrounding paintings also your creation? You look like a nice person.

Right off the bat, I have to say that you are certainly a neater painter than I. If that were my easel, you wouldn't be able to see it for all the paint slopped all over it. Don't even get me started on my clothing - and there you are, all smartly dressed and looking all presentable and shit. Look more like you're going out for a fashionable lunch then doing a [what looks to be very nice] painting.

All that being said, glad to hear you had a good time. More importantly, I hope you made a sale or two.

Need more shots of the pet skunk..
Actually, I plan to hang onto this link for a while, so I can go back a couple more times and peruse some of the pics at leisure. Definitely looks like a nice gig and, apparently, a young lady we both know and love got herself some special recognition while there. [not sure, but I kinda think you mentioned you were gonna] No matter.. kudos and congrats anyway! Well done and well deserved.

Aww, thank you so much!!! Yeah it was an amazing event, and I felt quite bad about the fact that they gave me two awards, considering there were well over 200 artists that took part. But they reassured me that the vote was anonymous and they did not realise both paintings were mine... I hope I can keep this standard up, no pressure at all.

Isn't the pet skunk a cutie?!?! I have never seen one before, and I was surprised that you can get them so easy as pets here in Europe. Apparently, she even goes to the cat toilet so she is in the house with it's owner and two cats. He takes her to the pub as well, as they say: Drunk as a skunk, ha ha. I would *love* to have one!!!

Skunks are not the only wild animal that will use a litter box. I had a friend in my misspent youth whose baby brother kept a raccoon for a pet and it would use a litter box. One of the selling points for ferrets is that they, too, will use a litter box. It's actually kind of amazing how many animals there are that are fastidious enough to be litter trained. My guess are, these are but a few. Tell ya what, though - I would have that bad boy declawed. Not that they are all that sharp, but I could still imagine her doing a lot of damage with those bad boys - especially on a hardwood floor.
