Description A pair of Genesis figures and a hair I'm working on. I could sell it I guess. Maybe I'll become a vendor some day, who knows?
Textures from the old Michael 4. Freak 4 maps actually, by Sarsa. They are really cool.

DAZ Studio 4.5 and LuxRender
No postwork except skin pressure under the fingers.

...and I was just about to ask you how you got their flesh to look pressed/pushed under their grasps! Seriously, I was! I think you should become a vendor, your work is really stunning, you pay so much attention to detail. I believe there would be many people out there lining up to purchase your items.

So I'm going to hazard a guess here re: the finger pressure~ can I do this using dodge & burn tools? Or is it a more complex process?
The realism is wonderful in this scene, great specular light on the skin and your hair looks great as well Another fabulous work of art from you!

HellboySoto In reply to TheOwl68 [2013-04-15 23:22:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot!
You could use the dodge and burn tools, but be careful so they don’t saturate the color too much.
I tend to pick a dark color of the skin and a very light color for the highlight instead.

TheOwl68 In reply to HellboySoto [2013-04-16 02:32:08 +0000 UTC]

Good point re: dodge & burn~ I will attempt your advice of dark & light colors. After all, I am trying to raise the bar on my digital painting so, yeah, I shouldn't be getting all lazy-bones with those dodge & burn tools.
Thank you so much again, and keep these amazing images coming!!

HellboySoto In reply to TheOwl68 [2013-04-16 05:24:09 +0000 UTC]

They work, in fact, they should be better, but its just a matter of being careful and not saturate the colors.

Thank you!

You're welcome! (and thanks again!) If I manage to get this technique looking right on an image, I'll link you, or send a Note, if that's ok?

That's insane, the amount of detail and weight (skin folds and joints) you can get with the Genesis figure. I could never get Daz 4 to work on my computer. But your work is absolutely wonderful.

what hair is this?

by the way: i am searching for a good tutorial how to create hair with DS, Hexagon (i am not firm in Hex).
Your hair for the F4-Lion-Man is one of the best hairs i have because it is possible to moprh and adjust for muscles!

HellboySoto In reply to Catweazle01 [2012-09-22 04:21:11 +0000 UTC]

Its a hair I did myself. Basically, Its ready to sell somewhere. Id DAZ accepts it, I'll sell it there, if not, whatever other store that does.

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you liked Vincent's hair!

thanks for answer,
i want to know hot it is possible to create hair for DS. I have Hexagon, but i am not firm with.
Do you know any good tipps and / or tutorials?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HellboySoto In reply to Catweazle01 [2012-09-22 16:15:33 +0000 UTC]

No, I don't know any tutorials, what I can say is to work with layers and opacity maps. You'll shape them good like that. Rigging is easy now with Genesis since you just transfer the rigging to the hair. I am better at that part and can help you.

For now, you should try to feel comfortable at modeling stuff.

Awesome poses on these guys... They're rough as hell, but their limbs are still posed in such an elegant way... That makes a really striking effect!

I usually try to mix rough and gentle elements in my images. I like to play with that kind of contrast.

What program did you use to produce these effects? Im trying to learn to use Wings but Ill prefer to use the same one you do if I could get my 3d art to look like this?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HellboySoto In reply to Lt-Snuggs [2012-09-06 03:21:41 +0000 UTC]

I do the scene in DAZ Studio 4.5 and then render it in LuxRender via the Reality 2.5 exporter.
DAZ Studio and LuxRender are free. Reality is not, but its worth it big time.
