In order to redeem herself in the eyes of the Dreemurr family, and to quell her guilt caused by past actions, Alphys wants to protect any humans that fall down into the underground from revolutionaries such as Undyne and escort them to the Queen for their own safety. She is forced to fight the protagonist, however, due to their steadfastness and hardheadedness, at the end of Arctic Falls. Her armor is tailored by Ing. Undyne, who, although not supportive of her stance on humans, still has a good enough relationship with her. Despite not wanting to kill any humans, the protagonist can still be accidentally killed by her, leading to a similar situation with Toriel in Undertale.
