I am loving these miniatures! Are they made from colored clay or do you paint them? And how on earth do you do the icing and syrup? I have looked into it myself, but found no 'recipes' that produce results I am satisfied with. Same goes for faux icing.

Try the Polymer Clay Cookbook - it's pretty good for the techniques!

I used colored clay. For the waffle and cinnamon roll i also dusted with a little pastel chalk. For the syrup i mixed some transluscent liquid sculpey (TLS) and a tiny bit of brown pastel chalk. For the icing i mixed some TLS with a little bit of white oil paint. I then drizzled them both on using a toothpick.

Oooo! Thank you! I can't wait to try that. You don't have a fix for faux frosting do you?

hellfirejade In reply to KT-Silver [2010-08-26 20:55:51 +0000 UTC]

You can either mix the color clay of your choice with clay softener or with TLS. You have to make sure you have a higher clay to softener/tls ratio (meaning you have to use more clay than softener/tls).
