Drawing in Photoshop can be great fun, and it can be incredibly frustrating. Thankfully everything can be learned with practice, and you'll see that you'll have more fun and become quicker at it.
Not that I'm some sort of PS-guru, but since you asked for help, I'll offer a few tips that might be helpfull:
1) Don't get carried away with textures and 1000 different brushes (not yet, but get a few simple brushes and try experimenting with the opacity and flow of the brush.
2) Separate foreground and background in different layers. (a few layers is good, a lot of layers is hindering)
