REPORTER: Mr. Hunsen, what inspired you to develop the first bio-candy self replicating sugars and other foods?
HUNSEN: Apart from the fact that it makes victims taste better? (Laughter) Well, it was partly inspired by an incident during the Great depression. I had lost my entire American fortune, so on a frustrated whim, I faked the death of my then identity, and went vagabonding for a few years. Oh, I had plenty of cached resources here in the Old City, but I like to get a hands on taste of the struggles of humans in any given age. Also, there were nameless victims everywhere for the first time since the Frontier was officially closed.
REPORTER: I remember those times in Germany. I must have killed 1, 000 humans who were never even reported missing!
HUNSEN: Good times. Anyway, I make it a point to learn something useful or profound, if I can, about a target, before finishing them. I believe everybody deserves some modicum of a legacy, however small. In the summer of '33 I met this old human who seemed particularly interesting, but I couldn't pinpoint why at first. Then this sage of a Hobo sang what has become a staple of human Nursery Rhymes, "The Big Rock Candy Mountains". I thought, such a heavenly environment would be a perfect cattle yard for humans! You remember how our Great Lord tried to cultivate them locally back in the day?
REPORTER: How could I forget?
HUNSEN: Well, the best pork in the world, comes from this Spanish Farm, where they are just spoiled rotten. They are much more expensive, but if I could create a self replicating paradise, we could put humans in there and keep them so content that they will hardly notice or care when some of them go missing. I vowed that one day, I would make the candy mountains a reality.

So, his origin is of a more classical vampire story, in all likelyhood, a medieval noble perhaps, which makes him around 2, 000 years old by the time of the show. How he survived would be interesting, seeing that a nuke is really a tiny sun. If sunlight is lethal, then thousands of tiny suns couldn't be healthy.

Bueno, segun yo Hunson prendio su televisor y la primera imagen que aparece es la de una bomba nuclear haciendo explocion, talvez un noticiero o algo asi. En cuanto a mentita... No veo porque no pudo existir antes de la guerra, es decir si la dulce princesa puede dar vida a los dulces con una formula y sabiendo que habia mucha tecnologia antes talvez mentita fue un experimento para crear servidumbre... o algo asi
