I really liked Mothwing before she was awful to Shadowsight. Now, I honestly don't like her as much. I still find her story appealing, however. She certainly is a unique medicine cat, with her disbelief in StarClan... oh wait... now she just thinks the StarClan cats are all idiots. To be fair, she is right though.

Time for the design process!
She has round features to contrast her sharp features, which match her two sides I see her with. Caring, but sharp at times when the situation calls for it. Her fur shape, color and pattern also match the moth part of her name. Her eyebrows exaggerate her expressions, I like to think it is likely because she had to hide her problems so no other cat would judge her or demote her again, and she is so happy to feel free to express herself. Plus, I'm sure she wants to fit in because of her loner background, although she mostly feels like she fits in, using her new found confidence. She is large and has lots of thick, soft fur to be similar to her father and to show her strength both physically and emotionally.
