Description

Edit: Hey guys, I'd really love some feedback on this one: I'm attempting a different method of drawing
anatomy and I'd appreciate knowing what you think of it.

Who are you, then, whom I have longed to see again? Pray tell me before I go. It is everything that I would ever wish to know. When I look back, the last thing I remember are those half-hopeful eyes on the verge of a catastrophe with nothing but thin breathing and nervous tension within you. No, here I am, and there you are. So what happened? You shone like a star—a soft, brilliant radiance, a tinge of colour in a crackling voice—and then, just like that, you faded away and left me fumbling in a sky without light.

Where did you go? Where did you go, and wherever it is, why must it be a place where I could not follow?

You have a lovely style, very soft and clean and beautiful, and just very pleasing on the eyes

I am really impressed by this! The anatomy is great in this one, especially Benjamin's pose! You should to more pieces like this one, if it works well for you

What I love about this piece is that their poses seem really natural and fluid, not stiff, so really great work there! just a little critique tho: watch the sizes of their heads, because you tend to draw heads a bit too large (they should be about the same width of their shoulders). Sara's here, for instance, is a bit large, but Benji's looks good.

i like the attention to contour and harsh definite lines it adds a solidity to the work. though too much so leaves little room for negative space and the soft subtle curves that a human form realistically takes. incidentally what are your sources for the poses? models? or photographs? granted i've not draw anything consistently in a long while and my own art has thus atrophied into nothingness but the principals are there for me to call on having taken a few courses etc. but i digress as I'm curious if you've signed on to any academic studies of the subject, such really helped me with anatomy.

Thank you! And I looked at vintage photographs for the poses, and followed gestural tutorials like this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j39Nq…

trouble with photos and tutorials i found was that ones figures and forms risk becoming flat because rather than taking the 3 dimensional and making it 2 dimensional one is reiterating what is already there. still you've a well developed command of space so far i'd look to sketching friends and random people and objects and looking into a life drawing class this could go lots of places!
