450 shapes(layers) later, and my hand is dead. yes, ladies and gentlemen, i am typing this one-handed. I have to say, i'm probably more proud of this than of anything else in my gallery due to the ammount of effort, care, time, and love i put into it. If you can, please comment or give some love or attention or anything you can muster because it'd really be worth it to me seeing how much i put into it.even if you dont like totoro.
or haven't seen it.

edit: I did this all with the freeform pen tool. none of it was traced at all whatsoever if that can give you any sort of idea as to what i did with this.
edit#2: changed the name to the camphyr tree. it seemed more suitable.

yeah, sort of. it's about these two girls who move to this new house in the country with their dad, and they discover that these little soot sprites live in their house, so they try to catch them and such, and then they end up finding totoro, who is this giant amazing ball of fluff(as shown in this deviation) and they have superfabulous adventures.

You so captured his face! Some people just can't get that crazy-cute-loveable-wild-animal-on-crack-which-has-just-eaten-your-umbrella-and-enjoyed-it look which is so imperative to anything Totoro! (The english version is scary, the children are seriously on crack! They scream way too much!)
Have you seen howl's moving castle yet? The scarecrow named turnip head has Totoro's face!!! It was the happiest day of my life! Dead_to_Reality and I saw it together ^_^

actually i have not seen howl's moving castle, and i NEEEEEEED to. grah, i need to. and hah, i haven't seen the english version of totoro in AGES. i actually own it in japanese, it's kinda funny. even though you can't really understand what they're saying, you totally know what's going on and can follow the storyline perfectly. that's how crazy incredible ghibli studios is.
