Description This is based off of the original show...which I love passionately (except for my insane hatred of Jan and Jayce and the monkey, but that's a whole other novella I don't feel like digging into at the moment. ) That's why Brak is all in a slinky Mortal Kombat death pose. I don't know where the tail came from. It just needed to be there.

Anyway, story over. Thank you and byebye.

Even my friend ever said he is an Egyptian space cat! Imagine that, but I don't think he's Egyptian

He actually sounds more Chinese in the 60's series.

I like the original Brak better. So much better. Adult Swim ruined him. Cartoon Network ruined him. RUINED HIM! He didn't lose his intelligence in the end of SG. Noooo. T___T
Anyway.. Awesome art! I like the pose that Brak is in!

Ehehe, I...like both of his personalities The abhorrent stupidity does make me cringe every once in a while, but I'm just a sucker for a cheap laugh He's SUCH a cool villain, though, I always wish they could have made Space Ghost into a more serious show (with better animation ). Thank you very much!

Yeah, I love to laugh.. But sometimes I just wish they would bring back the old show, but new.. You know? Like an upgraded version of the old. That would be really cool to see. I miss my kitty cat space pirate alien. He was SO cool, the old him. He didn't fear Zorak at all (especially in the old comics, it was Zorak who was a bit fearful of him). Brak pawned all! He owned all! I miss his sarcasm, his witty yet cold (and often callous) remarks. He was one cool kitty cat! He was actually pretty damn smart, too (not Locar smart, but smart enough to always think his way out from never being captured...unlike the others who often were, especially Zorak). The old Brak just..oozed sex appeal, too. xD It's his eyes, I swear. So cold. He was also a man who took situations in his own hands, right out of Zorak's when the mantis failed. Brak has POWER. POWER. Power over people and power even over the other villains, even Zorak.. He'd laugh in their faces if they tried to do something to him, that crazy, ruthless kitty cat!
And you are welcome! xD

Oh yeah! Geez, you're taking the words right out of my mouth! I'd seriously freak if they made an upgraded version of the old show. But everyone I've suggested it to believes it to be "tainted property." Heck, I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had the time and money! Dang, I wish I could be able to read more of the old comics, though. I can't find them anywhere. But yes, I love making fanart of evil-Brak, probably more than I do of his modern persona. It makes me just a bit sad, he's got a beautiful character design, and it...doesn't...go with the stupidity! The lack of face-to-voice connection always confused me when I watched Coast to Coast as a little girl. I think that was just part of the off-the-wall humor, though. Still does mystify me.

Brak is beautiful! xD I swear it's the eyes or something! He just, despite being male, he has some sort of feminine quality to him (especially in the comics, if you ask me...the way he poses, how he crosses his arms..has that air or persona that his mom has when she gets all pissy/snappy/etc). I loved his whiskers. I wonder why they took them away.. And since he's a cat (and I suppose that is the reason for it) he also seems..magical to me. Mysterious.
xD And believe it or not, my mom thinks of Brak more when it comes to Space Ghost than Zorak. She says she likes Zorak, but Brak is her favorite, too.
Brak does have the most lovely character design. He puts other characters like Black Widow to shame. I love his confidence, too, that megalomaniac. There's a part of me that loves his deep voice in the old series. It was..so sinister. xD I bet today, if they did do a new show with them..he'd have a really wicked frightening voice. As much as I love the comedy, the old Brak is for the WIN.
It's a shame they won't remake the series. It makes me sad. *shakes head* So, it's okay to make jokes and humor-ize the characters, but not remake it into a more modernized version of the old? That just doesn't sound right. And I would, too, make a show if I had the monies.

Indeed! I think he has the best character design out of the whole of the show. My favorite episodes from the original series are the ones that include him and Sisto. Oh, and Sisto! It really disappoints me that he was almost completely omitted in Coast to Coast (he was in the first episode, but that's it). I do wish they incorporated him more into the original show as well. In fact, I kinda wish they had shown more of their species in general, instead of just showing those two. And gaahh I know! I CAN ALREADY FEEL THE AWESOME EVIL that would seep from an upgrade. They'd up the terrifying on Brak by at least six thousand percent.
...and now this is making me want to go draw more fanart of Brak

tTToSchizzoraver In reply to HepcatNesmith [2009-10-18 11:59:29 +0000 UTC]

xD It's making me want to draw him again myself. I hadn't drawn him in a long, long time.. I used to have pics of him in my old gallery account (but they were deleted).
Yes, honestly.. I don't think they did any of these space kitties any justice. *shakes head* In any show or in any media format basically. I have read it, though it was a terribly long time ago, that Brak had so much power..even over his own people, his own race.. It just proves he's a definite megalomaniac. He was like their prince, their lord, their king..their god. xD "ALL HAIL BRAK!" It's where they orginally got that from. He had so much respect. And he went off to other planets, killed people, plundered their goods, then sold that planet to buyers. OMG. Brak always sort of reminded me of those really scary dictator types. No doubt in my mind, if Space Ghost was defeated, this man would have tried to gain control of everything.
I still can't get out of my head what Space Ghost said about him. About how he was the one villain that always got away. Not only that, but the most dangerous and feared villain in existence. xD This is also the man who almost got close (and the closest ever) to destroy those pesky twins and that monkey.

Ah man, that sucks that they were deleted, I would have loved to see them. I just went through your current gallery, and your style is delicious. (wow, that sounds creepy )
I know! If I ever get another tattoo, it'd definitely say something along the lines of hailing evil lord Brak He was definitely the most awesome space pirate to ever grace the world of superhero cartoons. It's great to find another fan of the original show. People think I'm very silly for liking it, since...it is amusingly bad in some parts. But the thing that I in particular liked about it was the fact that it has a great potential for an awesome storyline. The characters (mainly the villains, I really hated Jan and Jace and the monkey, they have the personality of tree bark) are so deliciously strange looking (and sounding, and acting) and goodness knows I like strange. If only it wasn't done by Hanna-Barbera, oh GOD! *facedesk* The animation needs to be revamped by DC or Marvel or aaanything! *ahem* I just find their animating style (and storyboard writing) to be stale and boring. The villains ALWAYS DIE terrible deaths! And have you ever noticed that their weapons, no matter how strong (like Brak's "impregnable" ray shelter that was totally pregnated? Totally pregnated! By Space Ghost! ) ARE ALWAYS leveled up by Space Ghost's power bands. AAALLLLWAAAYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSS. SSSSSS. It's practically no fight, unless Ghost gets caught up in bondage or a ray vice that doesn't let him grapple with his gauntlets. That's all he needs! Bondage. Without his power bands, he's just a strange dead man who enjoys violating your airspace and beating up aliens. ....*ahem, once again* I'd do anything to see Ghost get defeated at least once. (preferably by Brak, since he's most likely the most twisted villain in the story). God, you're making me want to read more of the comics now. I've read bits and pieces of them various places online, and they're quite tantilizing.

...wow, I hope you didn't mind reading all of that

xD I don't mind. I talk a lot, too, as you can tell.
And it is good to see another fan of the old show.
I miss it so much.

I swear it's like a major joke to HB/CN/AS to make Brak as stupid as he is now. I mean, seriously. They saw the space piranhamites (that he unfortunately got swarmed by them) and knew that was their key to making the biggest most baddest villain fall SO damn hard. They didn't even get the episodes right, because later we see Brak again, alive and well, and just as ruthless. It's like a big sick joke with them really, as funny as it is, it really is so very wrong of them to take the most dangerous villain and do this to him. However, fortunately, Brak is clever. Very clever. What we see now could just be a clever rouge. He very well may not be stupid at all. Perhaps it's a charade/facade. Then again, maybe he has a split personality complex. I doubt it, though, despite how insane he is. He's a megalomaniac. He's totally gangster. xD Like a King Pin of villains.
Sadly, now, Zorak takes all of the freaking credit and all because he's the lone mantis of the apocalypse. Zorak was just a destroyer and a thief. He destroyed whomever he wanted, possibly taking goods. He really didn't think about whom he destroyed. He wanted what he wanted, which was just merely items, though he did have a dream of bringing all of the galaxies to an end. He doesn't like people. He doesn't like anyone, especially Space Ghost. And the items he wanted were usually weapons that he could use to cause a wide spread of mass destruction. That's why he has that name...because he wants to bring everything to an end (especially Space Ghost whom he became obsessive over).
Brak and Zorak were the heads of The League of Evil. Zorak reminds me of that villain whom everyone thinks he's very well in control of everything.. But behind him, Brak.. Well, he's the sneaky villain...though he is supporting the supposed "the main boss" of the operation, he's actually taking matters into his own hands, doing whatever he wants and pleases..whether anyone knows it or not. Typically.. Brak is, without a doubt, Zorak's bitch...or evil girl-friend figure. He's the supposed left or right-hand man, but he is no mere lacky at all. (LMAO, Brak is the backstabbing bitch of a girl or guy who is with the main villain, using him, yet is always loyal..well, sorta. Backstabbing or treachery isn't what a loyal person does...but the girl or guy still remains by the head villain's side.) Funny how Brak would use Zorak and even make snide remarks towards him (IN HIS FACE, too), yet if anyone else did anything that was not part of his plans, Brak would inform him. He also pushed Zorak around at times, telling him he had enough and it's HIS turn to do something.
Brak reminds me of the Joker.. Zorak may be a master of mass destruction, but Brak was intelligent. Brak is also a gifted speaker, and just as much as homicidal psychopath as Zorak is...but he put thought int it. Even the Joker thinks about who his next victim is..not just pick them right off the top of his head (or more like, destroy the next person he sees). I think people compare Zorak to the Joker because Zorak was Space Ghost's main nemesis. I hardly ever remember the old Zorak ever laughing. It was Brak who did the insane evil laughter.

Wow, I totally adore analysis you've got there. That could very well be made into an awesome fanfiction Like, awesome enough for even ME to actually read, and I never have the attention span to read fanfiction. Ever.
It could totally be a facade! I mean, even without the total ooey goo-goo baby persona, he totally freaked me out and gave me nightmares as a child. It took like...two years for my brother to convince me that Cartoon Planet is not a terrifying show, despite the large bug, man-with-death-ray, and guy-with-teeth And now thinking over the concept that his whole stupidity thing may have been a cover-up, I think my childhood intuition may have been right. CARTOON PLANET IS A SCARY SHOW! EVIL-BRAK CHANNELED ME AS A CHILD! *ahem* My silly babblings aside.
Zorak definitely takes most of the spotlight as being the main villain. Granted, I've watched much more of SGC2C and Cartoon Planet than I have of the original, so I think Brak's evil totally dissipated, and they needed a character to which all evil was blamed upon in an assholish manner. So Zorak became the token asshole of the show (With Space Ghost as a close second, of course, but he's just a completely incompetent moron with a swelled head Whereas Zorak has no scruples or remorse.) I can definitely see Brak as the more intelligent of the two...probably why he freaks me out more. I mean, sure, it's a good kind of...inspiring freaking-out (wow, does that make sense?) but god, if someone like evil-Brak was real in this world, I'd seriously shit bricks. Not even joking. Bricks. Good to have these guys in fiction or in other parts of the universe, bad for them to be against us. And that's what I think makes a good villain, a person with all of the qualities that you fear the most. Sure, Zorak was a mindless killer, but the key word there is mindless. I think it's much more terrifying to be facing someone who carefully calculates his actions. The id overrules Zorak, whereas the ego overrules Brak, according to Freud.
Because Freud completely, totally had to be brought into this conversation.

And I agree with everything you said. *nods*
Brak would be the scariest. And Freud rules! xD
