Yeah it's absolutely disgusting the things humans do to animals. The hardest part is that it's so stuck in our culture that it's normal. Ick.

Well the problem is - at the end of the day they are a business that needs to make a profit. I'm sure they treat the animals much nicer than as seen in this photograph (which pretty accurately depicts the number of animals that would be in a factory farm cage), but all profit increase usually comes at some discomfort or cost from the animal.
If you do plan to buy organic and free range eggs ALWAYS ask them lots of questions from how they get rid of male chicks to how long their egg laying chickens live and what happens to them after. You have a right to know what happens to animals that produce your products, and every farm is different. If you've asked every question imaginable and you're comfortable with the answer, eat it. I personally would never want to cause any animal any discomfort so I don't eat eggs - but that's a choice I made. ^^

Yes, we most certainly should know what happened to the animals our products come from, I agree! Its too bad that many companies try and hide information in order to pile up their profits...
One question: Who do you recommend I ask questions about the animals? The company?

Yes it's very unfortunate that they hide things, but it makes sense because it helps them make a profit. I think the most unfortunate part is that the laws protect the companies and allow them to do this.
Yep I would just ask the company. You can usually email them or call them. I've found smaller companies are very good about giving responses because they feel they are treating the animals well so they're happy to publicize it. Well though depends on how well you think animals deserve to be treated. If you feel like you're getting an automated response, or not enough information, ask to visit one of the farms or simply try a different company.
If you're ever going to use animal products make sure you know what is normal for that animal. Like cows can live 30 years, but on dairy farms they typically live 4 years.

I wish conditions for our life stock throughout the world would improve, it upsets me what conditions many live in.
Our eggs we get from my aunt Ruby's, I don't really eat eggs though I always thought it weird when I'd think about it, it is my uncle Spot and grandfather that they bring them over for. They don't force them to lay eggs the chickens just do as they please, hell I play with the chickens whenever I'm there, I think they are funny, and enjoyable to just be around.
The only eggs I remember ever eating alot of, was when I was young and still living in South Korea, I think they were either quail or pheasant eggs.

I love this message. And, while I do eat eggs, they are all from my own chickens, so, yeah. Cool Work!

Owning your own chickens and not encouraging them to make any more eggs than they happen to make normally is the only way I won't frown on egg eaters. xD
It's also awesome if you adopt the chickens, not sure if you do. ^^ I only know of one place but maybe there are more, it adopts out chickens who have been seized from factory farms so that people don't buy chickens and contribute to the selling of animals in general.

because it makes a lot of money very quickly, that's really the simplest answer unfortunately. =/ That's why when you stop buying these products you are saying I don't agree with what you're doing and I won't financially support you.

I am completely against the way they treat those poor chickens! It's so hurtful so see the poor things caged up and then they can't walk. I know my cousin once found this chicken, but it couldn't walk at all because it was treated like this. I hate how cruel people can be! They use them and then they kill them

Yeah, exactly. =/ I think one of the most terrible parts is that a lot of people don't see it and don't know. It's illegal in many places to take pictures or videos of factory farms.

Those farms probably don't want people to see what goes on in there so people don't protest. It's sickening to know what people do to animals in those farms. I get these magazines about animals, and it showed a pig factory farm and how the animals look inside the farm. Which that is probably the rare stuff you get to see. This guy my mom knew became a vegetarian after seeing how they treat and slaughter the animals.

It's good you get the magazines, it's awful but if we stop thinking about it then we're more inclined to contribute to it unfortunately. I have a similar story. There's this movie named earthlings that shows footage of how they treat animals in the pet, meat, leather and medical industry. You can actually get it for free online. I was really nervous to watch it (because I was already vegan and knew what it would show, but I was doing a movie screening of it for my club so I wanted to see it first) so to help me out my friend watched it first and he went vegan right after. I think it just takes a moment where you go enough is enough.
