I like the blur, although I had to speculate for a while. It would have been more accessible if the blur had a sort of gradient... from top diminishing to the bottom in order to stress this foreground/background thing you have going on.
Aside from that, I like it! Classic head crop! NIIIICE.

the blur was done with camera filters.
the color comes from the time of day. (it was dark)

hm. gradient would have had to be done in post.
i try to do as little of that as possible.

I don't know...
I guess there's just too much blur.
That, and it lacks emotion. It's kinda blah.
Though I do enjoy the coloring.
