Not a very creative title I know maybe YOU can think of a better one ...Well anyway the original photos were supplied by Ben which I am very grateful for
The top butterfly took the longest at 2 hours and the middle one was the shortest at half an hour.
The black butterfly's flower is my favourite part ... what do you think?
Any criticism is very welcome.

A very nice painting, and I enjoy the textures of the paint and the support. I think the scan is great, actually.
As for advanced critique, I think the background is undecided: it has enough structure to command attention but is soft and blurry otherwise, so it is hard for my eye to decide if it should look there or not. You might consider simplifying and lightening the background. This would make it easier to give your foreground obejcts some shadows to help give them substance.
If you're using only brushes, you might try paint knives, twigs, cotton swabs, and other ways to apply paint. To soften your edges you might find it easier if you change the tool you are using in those areas of the painting.
I think you are doing very well. Just keep up the good work.

I like the pink flower a lot; it shows nice dimension and value. I agree with wise-cat about the edges. It seems almost like the softness of the picture is cut off by the harshness of the edges. I feel like I'm looking through water at this picture in some places, it's so wavy and blurred. I don't know if that's what you were going for but oh well, it looks nice overall. Oh yeah, what's the background? A leaf?

The original image of the background at the top was originally leaves and seeing as the bottom was quite dark so I attempted to bring these two together.
The scanned image doesn't look exactly the same as the original, I'm not sure why.
Any suggestions on how to soften the edges?

Nice painting! Butterflies are great ^^ the only critique I can give is that some of the edges look a little unclean, this is made more obvious by the fact that they are very sharp, still, good work!

This is wonderful...I am a little bit artistic and this is quality. I like everything, butterflies, flowers, background. Black butterfly is nice, but completely is great....
