well, i had this motivational poster sleeping on my hardrive for quite a while. Might as well post it now.Anyway, its about the fact that the more this war arc continue, the more this manga bash that naruto is the second coming of the Sage of the Six Path/Ninja God.
And this panel takes the cake.
Naruto just sanctified his parents, halo and all.
Saint-Joseph minato and Saint-Mary kushina. saintly parents to the god that walk this earth.
I can't believe that kishimoto go on with this shtick.
Though all in all, I don't think its really naruto that realize this messiah thing going on but rather kishimoto that just drive the story toward it.

I can't decide if ninja Jesus Naruto or Kishi's Uchiha boner did more to ruin Naruto but this image actually now has leaning toward the first.

well, i kinda noticed that kishi tends to swing from one way to the other. from naruto's messiah symbolism to "uchihas are the best things ever"

A lot of heroes have some messianic symbolism to them, that's nothing new but I think for me the reason it's so grating with Naruto is threefold: 1) Kishi lays it on thick, to barrow a phrase "sledge hammer of symbolism" fits it like a glove 2) It really subverts Naruto's original -and much better- theme of "you are not circumstances or heritage" 3) I strongly feel that Jiraiya's quest for "Ninja Jesus" has done more harm then good for the ninja world. He trained -and then left- Nagato hoping he'd fulfill the prophecy and we saw how well that turned out. Minato made his brilliant parenting choice to seal the fox in Naruto and leave without anybody to take care of him because of his faith in that stupid prophecy. Β

honestly this is part of why I hate the series & won't come back. Β The ONLY way they can make it up in my eyes is if they make Sasuke the second coming of the sage
They just made Naruto TOO perfect. Β If it's Sasuke, we have character flaws. Β We have someone I don't want to slice up with a box cutter every moment I see him on screen. Β We have someone that made the journey of hardship. Β If it's Naruto, we have the final slap in the face
I still can't forgive this series for killing my favorite character. Β It's not just the fact that Neji died, it's the fact that he died THAT WAY
They contradict their own belief that you can fight destiny

well, i do guess that its a good thing in the end : that manga ain't very good.
my point was to compare this kurapika and sasuke to see how each author handled identical characters.
because you see, this kurapika as THE EXACT SAME BACKGROUND as sasuke.
both belonged to a clan that had magical red eyes but the clan got exterminated except them and now they are out for revenge.
whats interesting is how each author handled its revenger.
unfortunately for this kurapika, the author of Hunter x Hunter really suck at characterizing its character, ALL of them.
so kurapika is downplayed a whole lot.
this character is promoted as part of the main team of character like sasuke would be in naruto but his actual consequence in the story is the same as neji : almost none.

they kept saying in the anime episode of this chapter about how minato was the prophetised savior and that naruto was the inheritor of that duty as the new savior.

eehh...im betting that in the end, naruto WILL become ninja god but since it has been hammered countless times (mostly when danzo is around) that the ninja system create hates, i bet naruto will simply removes it.
it would be quite symbolical since the sage of the six path created ninja system, it would be naruto, the second coming of ninja god, to remove it.
