Makoto comes off as quite the innocent girl. She's quite the popular girl in Morioh; she gets attention from guys and she has many female friends. Though there is some mystery to her because nobody seems to know her outside of her life strutting on the streets. People find it odd that she doesn't seem to go to school despite being a teenager, but she and the people around brush that off. Little do they know, she's quite thankful for their ignorance for her feminine side is merely a persona.

Thing is, Makoto does in fact go to school, except it isn't her. Nobody is really aware that the real Makoto exists. Makoto is actually any normal male student that you would see in Japan. He's quite distant from everyone but is still friendly. He has always been interested in feminine things but men being inclined to his interests wasn't the norm. He felt more liberated presenting as a girl and indulging in his interests rather than doing so while presenting as male. There was more predjudice if he continued what he was doing while presenting as male so he figured that it would be much easier for him if he just presented himself as female.
