I think I need to make some close-up shots of it as you are not the first who says that  
I may be wrong (though I haven't seen much other things similar and don't look much at other creations for inspiration) but I only have 3 'parts' in basic ccbs style, all the others are custom or half-custom (I don't count the head as fully custom as face and jaw are both single pieces ^^ )

Wouldn't mind suggestions on how to improve him, thank you ;D

if the whole hinge of the mouth is custom then the whole head is custom no matter how many lego armour shells you put on

and a way to improve i would say try your best to cover up the custom body parts and build more custom parts. some sea dragons/ serpents have the head then the thin neck then the big body and goes back to thin for thee tail

I actually reduced the armour/cover-ups on the lower parts as it became to bulky for what I wanted out of it ^^
But I will try to find better solutions when I revisit him. For now, the other dragons need to be built 3:}

Holy cow, I never played that game, but this looks EXACLTY like my sketches for him xD
Chose to reduce all the gold I put on his back for now because I will probably need it for others ^^
