Description I used to walk through the streets on my way to school.
I didn't bring any money with me, because I didn't want it to get stolen.
Older boys would always torment as a reason to look more powerful.
They would search my pockets, check my backpack.
I was supject to torture.
When they were denied any money, they were unsatisfied.
As a final attempt to make a mockery out of me, they would do just about anything.

I still have holes in my socks today.

the thing is in Mexico when somebody dies of a tragic or unexpecting death they throw their tennis shoes up on one of the electrical lines near their house, and the term "Ya colgo los tennis?" iliterally means "is he or she dead?" but it translates into "Are his/her tennis shoes hanging?...

good story though.

I used to live near Mesa Arizona. I always would see tennies on the telephone pole when passing by, so this brings back memories.

The story that goes with it is so cool! I love the soft, almost golden lighting on this one. How did you get the shoes up there?

lovely photo and well told story. but does anyone really know why shoes seem to hang from the sky?

because anything can hang from the sky if you imagine.
