Description Oil on canvas panel 60x90 cm.
I started this painting two or three years ago, when I did winter landscapes. Then I was tired from snow, didn't want to finish it, didn't paint and many other things. Now I started again and... I owe it myself. I finish it. This absolutely romantisized winter of my childhood. This is winter which I love. (There is other winter which I hate, also, but I never will paint it.) This is not a nostalgia, this is romanticized memory.

Beautiful painting. You've captured the sunlit snow wonderfully. I can't stop looking at it.

Hi, milbisous! I simply didn't paint. Didn't want to... How are you? It is very nice to speak with you again!

You did not want to paint...hmmm were you ok?
I read your poem, you've got another talent. I also seldom paint because of my new passion: ceramics. It's fun, but I miss painting. There is just not enough time for everything.

Well, I am OK, I also have new passion - my garden. I like ceramics too, by the way. Once I tried to do in old fashioned indian way.

Gardening is also good. Few months back, I planted a few herbs and they grew. I feel so happy just to pluck them from my backyard and use them in some recipes. So what do you plant?
What is ceramics, the old fashioned Indian way? Firing in the open air?

I plant herbs, flowers, bushes, not much space for trees left... Problems with deer also
Indian way - to do without wheel.

Hahaha I know so well about deer problems. They come by my lot daily. Without wheel are you referring to...hand building? I suck at the wheel and I love handbuilding.

Yes, handbuilding. I never even tried wheel.

RADification [2012-11-04 20:21:20 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you finished it. Something like this both calms me down and makes me a little pensive because I find that often when people make art based on old memories I end up relating to the feel of it quite a lot. That golden lighting on the snow is something really familiar and beautiful. Kudos to you for finishing it, I don't have that kind of perseverance myself. I like this kind of winter too

Thank you! I am surprised of myself also. I suppose you can feel it because my feelings are quite real and it is most likely... love.
