Look at this fukken dorkSo this is my somewhat detail-lacking New California Republic Trooper costume. I took it to Anime Boston, a lot more people than I expected recognized it. There was even a Legionary who I got to fight it out with. Hoping to see some pictures pop up soon.

It's cut from EVA foam, bent after being softened with a heat gun, then painted.

Ahh, this makes me think I might not be the only one who prefers troopers. They're my FAVORITE! They work so hard and yet all everyone thinks about is the Veteran Ranger... I'm almost always the only one rooting for the little guys.

I went as an NCR First Recon trooper to PAX East and was similarly surprised by the reactions I got - a lot of people recognized me right off the bat/asked for a picture. Didn't get to fight any legionaries, though.

I hope you do too! I saw someone in BOS Power Armor going the other way on an escalator. I shouted to him but he couldn't hear me. I was pretty disappointed I couldn't get a pose with him.

Thanks! I figured it was a probably a better idea to leave the orange tip on for walking around a con. The gun's like 1/2 scale any way. Thanks for the fav too!

first of all, did you end up spray painting the hat? second of all i didn't know you went to anime boston - how was it? and thirdly. you suck.

I did one coat of fabric paint which really sucked so I just went ahead and spray painted it. AB was pretty nuts and lots of fun. And no, it is you who sucks.
