Just a doodleBah, my scanner doesn't work very well with pencil crayon, you can barely see any of the shading and it's all gritty >_<
People should draw more girls without bangs.

have you tried putting the pic in photoshop and raising the contrast? it helps a little for mine!

I concur with your temperature observation. Coincidentally, I just moved into my parent's basement, where it is always almost ten degrees cooler than the the surface temp. B)

Yeah I don't even want to talk about my scanner...it's probably why I have a bunch of sketches laying and none of them are in my dA gallery. xD
This is good though, it's kind of weird to see with all your sketches lately how quickly you are getting better at drawing altogether! ^_^

See how taking pictures of your drawings works instead of a scanner. I do that with my life drawings. Never tried it with pencil crayon before but I tooootally know what you mean about drawings not looking so good when scanned. :/
