Again with the pirates thing… this time on large floating ships… this was done a while back.Some where I’ve got some lose storyboards of a pullout sequence from the deck of the ship as people set up stalls in the market place, slowly we move back and up until a guy climbing rigging comes into shot then a sweep ‘round to show that we are actually on a huge ship.
Then Treasure Planet… and another abandoned idea…

I'm hoping to make a model of this in 3D at some point and expand on the idea and rough storyboard I've made... as for the style, I dunno... it's just my regular sloppy inking... I like the idea that it might have sparked of some kind of resonance with your childhood though... Thanks.

I think it jumps out of the thumbnails at you, and then when you look at it full size it's pretty good. It's not in the same league as some of the others when you look closely, but it's a great attention grabber.

I have a thing for airships. And the style of the outline, with its grains, works well for the subject matter, giving the ship a proper texture.

Yep... airships definately cool... I once saw an article in a Lufthansa inflight mag on how they where designing the next generation of airships, bigger than ever, for carrying freight... I keep looking up, but I'm always dissapointed...

Looks great. I personally love the idea of flying ships, and it´s great how you have managed to create something original in a field that is so crammed up with used ideas. So, to the original part: The ships hull look like that of an old Kogg but the upper part is crowded like an ants nest, filled with little details. The medieval influences look great too, not too technical this one. Oh, and the little sail in the ships gack side looks good. Great work!
