I found this one interesting, because Finland during the war did surprisingly put up a fight against Russia. Until they had to deal with the German threat mainly.

Somehow, this actually makes me think more of the continuation war, and the higher ups' dream of Great Finland. If I think about the Winter war, I see Finland wounded and angry. In the continuation war, Finland went over the new border to take back the land we lost to Russia - and then just continued taking in the silly belief Russia couldn't hold a candle to our might (or didn't care enough to). Well, when Russia was done with Germany, they hit us bad. I mean, Finland is awesome! But I think everything would've been fine if we just stayed behind our border.
Sorry, didn't mean to write a story. But anyway. I love the picture. Their expressions are amazing. I still wonder why the series depicted a lot of the Baltic's struggle, but none of the relationship between Finland and Russia. This art helped me deal with it, thank you~

Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim was the Finnish Chief of Defense of the Finnish Defense Forces between 17 October 1939 and 12 January 1945. He was the Regent of Finland between 12 December 1918 and 26 July 1919. He was also the 6th president of Finland between 4 August 1944 and 11 March 1946.
Also, there is no "Karlovich" in Mannerheim's name.
(There also are no other Mannerheims that were in the war.)

Since Carl Mannerheim was a Russian officer (before the revolution), he ought to have "Karlovich" as his father's name in accordance with Russian naming tradition. No need to get so agitated.

He would not use Russian naming conventions because he is Finnish, not Russian. Finland never used such things, and was always separate from the rest of Russia. Not only in language, but in culture. Your arguments have no backing.

Gustaf Karlovich Mannerheim has studyed in The Nicolas Cavalry School in Saint's Peterburg and even studied russian language for it in Kharkov. And then get married with Russian noble girl. Okay, I am sure, he did it because he was against Russians)

It's not what he would do. It's how he was titled in offical papers. He after all served in Russian army and paperwork had to be done in Russian. And in Russian tradition there must have been a father's name. I don't know though, how it works nowaday.
