Dat information bar. It gives false hope sometimes.

Note: I really do love Birth By Sleep; it's probably my favourite in the whole series. And I actually do like how it ends. I've always felt it appropriate that BBS should be a tragedy; its ending is perfect. It's epic and heartfelt, and I wouldn't change anything about it.
I just couldn't resist making this joke, that's all.

This comic pretty much sums up my experience playing the game the first time. I kept taking that information bar seriously, thinking that surely the trio would have happy endings, until finally reaching the last fight in the Final Episode. By then I figured poor Terra wasn't getting his body back, despite what it said.
(I originally meant the player chibi to be either blue, purple, or grey, but they just wound up looking alienish like that, so I gave up and didn't colour them at all. I guess he's just Mr. Marshmallow now. )
