I was thinking of using this design as submission to the Oct/Nov Monthly Challenge (Antique), but I figured that would be cheating since I've been thinking about this for a while.After attending the ball at SteamCon, I realized that a ballgown is necessary attire. It simply cannot be avoided at a Victorian-era event; gentlemen are gentlemen and will treat you as a lady if you are female, regardless of your attire. I wasn't expecting to dance at all, since I didn't go with anyone, but the ball was true to times- it's rude to neglect a lady
TL;DR, it was awkward to dance in a suit.
So here's the dress I'll be making for SteamCon, which is in March 2010. With my signature button embellishments, of course. (DIES)
I tried looking for appropriate lace today...turns out there's none ready-made. Trust me to design something that requires custom lace...-__-
