I really, really, really like this design. There's so much about this that works. First, I love the colour of the dress. The dull greens work really well with the overall feel of the outfit and really hints at Demeter's status as a figure of nature. I like the way the dress attaches to her neck and the sash draped across her shoulder looks quite regal. Of course, I absolutely ADORE that she's barefoot. Not because I like feet... but because it gives her a closer connection to the earth. Also, gotta love that you've decked her out with symbols associated with her.
The only thing I'm not too much a fan of is the hairstyle. It's always unusual to see Goddesses depicted with short, straight hair. Though I suppose it works since it's more matronly and shows a plainer side to Demeter.
