Description Luna began life as a Talking Princess Celestia toy, before her screw were drilled out and she was disassembled to have her head removed, wings snipped off, and hair pulled out. She was then repainted dioxazine purple in the first step of her transformation into Princess Luna, based on her appearance in "Luna Eclipsed," the fourth episode in season two of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

It took several coats of paint to cover the hard plastic body of the toy; her cutie mark, hoofcovers, and facial details were painted on later. Her new mane was a mixed-color hank of dark violet and a low-key chromatic grey; I briefly tried boiling in curls but ultimately went back to a more relaxed look. The wings were machine-sewn from a satiny material and replaced on the toy.

This was originally her non-display side; g4 ponies in the show seem to have cutie marks on both flanks, and she just looks better from this side.

She is a gift for my best friend and is unique in all the world.

Hail Luna!

I actually disassembled her, cut the hair short, and ripped out the last bits from the inside, glue and all. It was pretty arduous. Then I put in a new hank of hair I ordered from Dollyhair with the tool they sell for it. It took a very long time! Ultimately I'm happy with the outcome, though.

I actually thought about replacing the sound module and the LEDs in her wings, but ultimately I don't have the technical knowhow for such things. If I ever make another, I might attempt it with help.

Must say this is incredible. I find the talking Celestia toy rather hideous. Those who can merge that thing into something beautiful like you did deserve an award, but unfortunately this is not up to me.

I would object less to Talking Celestia if she weren't that rather atrocious shade of pink. The sculpt isn't too bad; I'm waiting on the new toy with soft hair but hard plastic wings and I may use that for my next alicorn custom. Thanks so much for the compliments though!

You're welcome
Tia's fur is actually light lavender/lavender blush (a rather too pale pinkish purple , which you won't see depending on the contrast of your computer), and both in RL and Flash is rather difficult to get this color right, so Hasbro simply got the cheapest dark pink tone to appeal to little girls. I think this is a disrespect, really.
