For those of you watching who like Blood Raven, I decided that practice fighting is too easy. She needs an opponent, and a tough one.

Meet Delorah Sinor of the Bronze Guardians. Dinorah is a veteran in the Black Shields division and one of the few female warriors that prefers heavy armor and a cumbersome shield. She spends three hours a day working out in her armor, always carrying the 12 pound shield and her sword with her as well. The Black Shields are not law enforcement - they are the elite soldiers of Council City and well-known for their fighting ability. The Bronze Guardians, having lost several good men in the pursuit of Blood Raven, have sent Delarah after her.

Blood Raven quickly found out about Delarah when the Black Shield questioned the harlots Blood Raven "protects". Knowing she was no match for a Black Shield in combat, Blood Raven "accidentally" informed a shady rogue by the name of Nubbs that she trained at the Kolarei Pavilion in the badlands. She then left the city on horseback out to the rather nasty area.

Delarah had no choice but to follow, and her honor required that she fight Blood Raven in single combat. Delorah thought she knew the difference between wartime and peacetime and that Blood Raven would be compelled to fight her to protect the location of her home base. So she saddled up her warhorse and headed out.

Delarah was forced to abandon her steed at the base of the hill and watched her foe practice in the distance as she approached. Good, she thought as sweat poured down her in the midday sun, she'll be exhausted by the time I get there.

The approach was treacherous - an uneven slope with plenty of lose rocks - and the half mile walk was far more draining than Delarah anticipated. It seemed Blood Raven had just finished her exercises when Delarah approached, sword held high and shield in front. Delarah never took an opponent for granted, even though Blood Raven had only a dragon spear to protect her. The dragon spear was made for street fighting, with a broad spear tip that could slash as well as puncture, but the design also distributed the force of a puncture over a larger area, making its chances of finding a weak point in the plate almost non-existent. Delarah almost felt sorry for her foe.

Blood Raven made the sign for parley, but Delarah did not drop her guard.

Blood Raven said through false laughter - "So, they send a woman to do a man's job. Tell me, did Sir Jordan get his pecker regenerated after our encounter?"

Delarah expected this kind of crude bluster from the criminal, and responded in an even but firm voice, "By order of the Council, you are to be put to death for your crimes, 5,000 gold nobles for the one that does the deed. I have been selected to carry out this sentence but I have refused any reward for I live to serve the Talisan States and do not need incentive to execute a vigilante."

Blood Raven looked down at her feet, considering, saying "I guess that's it then. The gods know I tried," and her spear suddenly leapt towards Delarah's eyes, the move so quick and deceptive it almost caught her off-guard. Delarah had been exposed to many tricks during long sparring matches and was prepared - the spear made a loud scraping noise against her shield as it was pushed a few inches aside with a practiced flick of her wrist. The battle has begun!
