Chapter 1- Meeting People
His eyes were a beautiful shade of green with flecks of blue that made them look like a Mediterranean ocean. He was rather muscular but not like those work-out addicts, his features were so defined by his clothes that they seemed to hug his god-like body. His hair was black with a hint of dark brown.
He was standing on the opposite side of the room. Well, it was a hotel lobby really but a room all the same. But anyway, he was stood by a table with other people; laughing, joking and just being sociable. He was wearing a black polo shirt and snugly fit jeans with converse.
Myself on the other hand was sat on my own staring at him. No idea why though, but my light brown hair was in a messy state as though I just got out of bed. You would've thought that since it was my dream I would look more presentable but nooo, not with my turtle neck jumper, baggy trousers and for some reason, slippers. Odd right.
I couldn't stop looking at his face though, especially when he smiled. I don't know if his friends saw it but whenever he smiled it never reached his eyes. His eyes looked empty, deprived of happiness and all I felt was to comfort him and show him happiness.
He felt my gaze on him and he turned to stare right back at me. Everything around us started to go out of focus and disappearing until all that was left was him and me. Staring into each other's eyes like we just clicked, like we were two pieces coming together for the first time. Looking into his eyes I noticed that his eyes were so soft and full of love when he continued to hold my gaze.
After what seemed like forever he spoke" I will find you my angel" his voice was a melody to my ears with its deep sensual tone. He smiled and everything went black. I woke up all hot-n-bothered bolt upright in my bed.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
"Bethany! Come on or you're going to be late for your first day of school" my mom shouted from downstairs. I guess now you know what my name is, I'm 16 and have been shipped across near enough every country you can think of. Sometimes I don't even bother to unpack because my mom and dad decide to get going again.
This time they have promised that we will stay in South Carolina for my senior year, the whole of it. I don't really believe that so I'm not getting my hopes up.
My parents are botanist's which, for those who don't know what that is, means they study plants. But this is bad for me because they have to move all over the world to find those plants. Sometimes that sucked, no actually it did suck.
My parents are also one of the rarest pairs you will ever meet. You wanna know why... because my mom is a werewolf and my dad is a witch. So I guess that makes me the rarest supernatural ever. Most people would think that being a witch and a werewolf is the most amazing thing that could ever happen to anyone, but to tell you what it's not all sunshine and rainbows. You are aware of every-freaking-thing that goes on around you, that's a wolf thing, but it doesn't help when it is amped up by witch powers. However, being a witch is totally awesome because not everyone has same abilities as for me I'm very good at telepathy. All witches get certain training in how to use spells herbs and potions.
Although I gotta say that having telepathy and heightened senses gives you a massive headache, so I had to put up a barrier to keep everyone's thoughts out and my head in one piece. With my barrier I can control whose mind I want to enter, kind of like spying but I don't care.
Anyway, back to the present shall we.
As I moaned and groaned at having to start yet another first day of school, I got out of my bed and went over to the boxes that I still hadn't unpacked and looked for the box that said 'Bethany's clothes'. I started to go through it to find something that didn't compliment any of my wolf-y good looks.
I settled for a cami sole and a black baggy hoodie that should make my tanned skin look paler then it usually does. A pair of loose jeans, you know the ones that have positively no shape to them what-so-ever, and high tops. I love me some high tops.
Pleased with the outcome I put my light brown hair into a low pony-tail, grabbed my phone and went downstairs towards the kitchen.
The house itself was a reasonable 3 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, living room, a study for my parents and a huge kitchen diner. Although the third bedroom was being used as a 'plant room' so-to-speak. The kitchen had an island in it and the garden I'd say would have to be the best part of the house. It was a huge garden that ended at the mouth of an even bigger forest. I loved being outside, its my favourite place. Sometimes having botanist as parents is a good thing.
Walking into the kitchen was defiantly a wakeup call. The gleaming surfaces of the floor and the work tops shined in the early morning light. My mom stood by the island making breakfast while my dad sat at the head of the island looking like a love sick puppy. My mom was wearing a floral blue dress that didn't seem to end; her chocolate brown hair was pinned up in a beautiful bun.
My dad was wearing a short sleeved checkered blouse leaving it open at the top just so you could see the start of his chest with a pair of jeans. Looks like he had the same Idea with jeans.
"Morning." I murmured to my parents as I sat on the other side of the island to where my mom sat.
"Good morning honey" my mom chimed at me with a grin so wide I think the Chesher cat would be jealous. I gave her a weak smile while she handed over my scrambled eggs and toast. I ate my breakfast in silence and quite enjoyed that they didn't try talking to me while I'm eating. I guess wanting to just eat without distractions is a wolf thing, I smiled at the thought and finished the last of my toast.
I got up from where I was sat to grab my car keys and school bag as my dad said
"Have a good day Bethany. Remember a first impression..."
"Is a good impression." I finished for him. "I know dad." I smiled at him as I continued to go get my things.
Once I'd gotten my things I went to the double garages to find my totally shiny awesome purple mini parked in front of the second garage door. I found my super trendy sunglasses in the middle compartment of my baby, put them on and started my car for the journey towards my new new school. What a mouth full.
This school I would be 'supposedly' be spending my senior year is called South Carolina Seals, SCS for short. Seals? I mean really? Couldn't they think of a better animal? I didn't look at the pamphlet that came because I didn't see the point and besides, I'm more of the learn-on-the-go type.
When I got there I realised it only took me 10 minutes. So I was early. Even though I could see tons of people still arriving in cars, buses, bikes and the odd walker. I parked my car in the closest available spot which happened to be in front of the school reception. Yippee for me.
The school looked like a bungalow but wider and with the front entrance built in front of it. This should be interesting . Before I got out of my car I put my hood so no-one could really see me.
The first thing I did when I got out of my car was access the situation. The situation being what kind of people populate this school, this meaning I took a good long sniff of the air. With my wolf senses I could smell all the different types of supernatural's. I could tell there was a lot of werewolves and vampires at this school, the odd fair folk (fairy as most people know them, they get ratty if people call them fairies. I don't know why but they hate it) and something I'd never smelled before. It was like cinnamon and jasmine fused together. It was heavenly. I also could smell a lot of humans as well but I was glad I didn't smell any witches. They are nice, most of the time, but get on their bad side? You soo didn't want to do that.
Anyway, I made my way into the front office after locking my car. There was a pretty blonde woman sat behind a desk to the left of the room. Quite a tidy desk I might add. She looked around her late 20's and she was so...human. She had a wide smile on her face as I approached and that made me feel a bit better.
"Can I help you sweetie?" she spoke in such a casual tone you wouldn't have thought you were in a school.
"Uh yeah. I'm Bethany burrows by the way."I gave a slight smile as she started typing. I could've slapped myself for being so dumb. Stupid way to start a first day. As I stood there I realised she smelled like daisies, sweet little daisies.
"Here you are." She said as she found my name on the computer.
She walked over to the corner of the room where there was a printer."Here is your schedule and a map of the school grounds." She smiled sweetly while giving me the papers.
"Thank you." I gave her my own smile and walked through a pair of double doors.
I knew I shouldn't have gone before I looked at both the map and my schedule but knowing me I did. I was hit by waves of smell movement and sight. I thought I was going to choke on how many smells there were, the mixture of the species stuck in my nostrils for so long I couldn't help but start hyperventilating.
The movement hit me like a brick wall, I was stunned to see this many people and species walking around in harmony. Harmony? That doesnt happen. Well obviously it does 'cause your staring right at it! I was just standing there most likely gawping at everyone. I decided to go back through the double doors and familiarise myself with the layout of the building and my schedule. I'd barely gotton into the room when the lady in reception called me over.
"I'm sorry, i forgot to give you your locker combination." her cheeks flamed red of embarrassment but gave me a wry smile.
"It's OK. Thank you." I said while taking the piece or paper from her, returning a smile I made my way over to a chair on the opposite side of the room. looking at my classes i noticed i had;

Great 2 hours of PE. luckily I brought my kit just incase something like this would happen. Other then that I was quite pleased with what i had.
Since I had to go to my locker first, instead of looking at the map I asked the pretty blonde which way it was. She told me to take two lefts and a right and that it was on the right hand side of the corridor. I thanked her and started on my way.
I was hit with the smells again but not as hard, this time I could control my breathing. Everyone started staring, glancing at me occasionally or whispering. It was a bit off putting.
i kep t my hood up and my head down. As I turned the right I looked at the peice of paper with my locker number on it. 235 was my number, all i got to do is find the damn thing. which would be difficult considering how many people were about this early. I found up to 230 when i bumped into someoneand my papers fell onto the flooras well as my sunglasses. Great.
I bent down to pick them up when a male vioce said "Don't worry, I'll get that. Sorry my name is Gregorio, but everyone calls me Greg." I was already stretching a ahnd for my sunglasses when his grabbed them first.
"I would've been fine getting them myself. I'm not incompetent." snacthing away my glasses and placing them firmly back on my face."I didn' need your help." Why was i being so hostile? This is new.
"Well I've never seen you around here before and you do look a little lost. Can i help?" I decided to look at him then. Even though I was wearing sunglasses i could still see a lot of him. He was bulky, the kind that don't over-do a work out, and tall! I had to crane my neck to see his face.
He was wearing simple jeans, a plain blue tee and black Nike's. I felt a slight tingling as i raked my eyes over his succulant body. When I did see his face it was like someone had woke me up and brought me back to reality. He had high cheek bones and a square jaw, his lips were in a cheeky grin but they were so plump and delicious-looking I just wanted to smother them with mine. What is wrong with you woman! His hair was a deep shade of black but in this light it looked dark brown. His eyes, oh his eyes, they were such a brilliant shade of green. The smell that eminated from him was that odd combination of cinnamon and jasmine i smelled earlier.
This is why I was thankful for sunglasses 'cause I'm sure if I didn't have them on I would have been caught in the act of staring. I realised he was awaiting an answer from me.
"Uh yeah. I'm looking for my locker." I gave him a half-hearted smile. I thought I still had my paper in my hand so when they weren't there I panicked. What a first day this was turning out to be. Then he handed them to me.
"Thanks. It's locker 235. Do you know where that is?" he nodded as he led me a few more steps to the right when he stopped in front of a locker, my locker.
